This is becoming Boer-ing

Well again I have refrained from the garbage written in blogs and by papers the past month or so. Again we read that we are to buy player 1, 2, 3, 4, blah blah. Fact is Sherwood, rightly or wrongly is still in charge till tomorrow. Again Levy and his maligned thinking is playing possum with the future manager. I for one do feel for Sherwood, but he would have to have pulled the miracle of miracles to remain the manager for next year. He has not helped his cause by making some interesting comments, almost a man of desperation and to be honest he would have saved face by saying next to nothing. He would have won more support by simply saying “No comment” every time he was quizzed about his position.

I’m not sure who will be there next year, be it de Boer, Van Gaal, a Spaniard, Mexican or Micky Mouse, but whoever is handed the job will have their work cut out. Their cause has not been helped by players who have placed themselves above and beyond the club and tweeted, emailed and had their agents questioning the current manager. Poor form. The unity seems thread bare at present as Sherwood tries in vain to keep unity within the playing group. But as I have written before their egos are far larger than the total number of people who go every week to support them. It’s a sad indictment on the club, players and powers that run the club. Early this season I mentioned that Tottenham is fast becoming a poison chalice. Seriously who really wants to manage a club that has an impetuous owner, a flimsy exterior that as soon as things turn pear shape the answer is sack him.

We will be lucky to keep our best once the season starts, and if Sherwood is gone as seems to be written, then appoint someone immediately. Leave it too long and players will go. Personally, and I sincerely hope he stays, I would place Lloris as captain, the only player to date that has called a spade a spade. Pity Sandro and crew can’t seem to follow suit. And as the title of this blog states it’s becoming Boe-ring. Next season Spurs will need a manager who does as such –

· Put Levy in his place
· Has a strong and no nonsense character
· Is a psychologist and nappy changer

· Build a team from what scraps will remain once the transfer debacle is done
· Builds a strong team with a belief that they are good enough to win and win well
· Good luck!

So as you can see it’s a tall order and I don’t envy his chances. He will have to be savvy with both player and the press, he will need time to build his team the way he wants, and above all we need to be patient. Whether we do or don’t qualify for the Europa League, someone from the club will need to draw a line in the sand and say “This is it, we start today!”. I can go through the pros’ and cons regarding the season and players alike, but please read the other garbage written. If Spurs sell and buy, they must buy players who will bleed for the club, respect the jumper and people who support her and above else, have pride that is Tottenham Hotspur.

Let’s hope we finish with a flurry and put to bed a difficult season and bring on 2014/15.

The deal is Done dont you worry, Interim Tim was put in with the his main task to assess the squad and to determine if the new signings were uo to it. Paulhinio and Soldado will be ousted along with Djembele and Siggy.

Good post! Tim has been treated terribly by the club but hasn't helped his cause & tried to hard to stamp his authority. Levy should of nrver goven him an 18montj contract but stability is wjats required now....ship out some of the midfirlders & get a left back in as a priority & a comading centre back.

Surely the first thing to get right as a manager is team spirit. To see the players and their agents behaving in such a disrespectful way speaks volumes as to the atmosphere Sherwood has generated in his time as boss, especially when one of the most disgruntled among them is Sandro who has always seemed to love the club and given 100% effort whenever called upon. Add to this his clueless tactics and ridiculous interviews and it soon becomes obvious this has been yet another huge error from Levy. The club is in disarray and needs a strong, skilful manager with a vision that encompasses the Spurs tradition of entertaining football but most of all we need the chairman to take some advice, appoint the right guy THEN BUTT OUT!!

At least Liverpool will not gazump our choice of manager this time. Brendan Rodgers must have been a target after Harry was sacked. So this time lets forget the fashionable media favourites and choose Pochettino who has the same drive and determination as Brendan. Also with Premier league experience and rated by his players.
