Well folks, the England cheering lasted for all of six days and now it’s time to focus our attention back on our first love, the mighty Spurs!!

It’s been quite some time since my last article so let’s just catch up with what’s been going on down at the Lane.

Sherwood is out, Poch is in, and the rumour mill is already in full swing.

Right, that’s that done.

IN’S and OUT’S

Well after a relatively poor season last time out, it’s no surprise to see our best players being linked with moves away, but it seems that they all plan to stay on at the club, which is a definite bonus. What seems more surprising is the players who sadly didn’t hit the ground running last season are also being linked with transfers elsewhere. Players such as Lamela, Soldado and Capoue have been had the ITK vultures flying around them but personally I’d expect them to stay and enjoy much better seasons this time around.

So, I don’t expect to see a great many heading for the exit, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see us saying goodbye to some of our back-ups such as Livermore, Naughton, Kaboul and, sadly one or two of our favourites in Carroll and Holtby. I hope I’m wrong about those two though.

As far as transfers in are concerned, there is one that is dominating recent Tottenham headlines, and that is the unimaginable signing of John O’Shea. This is a man who was rubbish for Man Utd, is rubbish for Sunderland and rubbish for the Republic of Ireland, so I’ll put this down to a little media joke just to get Spurs fans’ wind up.

However, there have been some more promising transfer rumours for us to sink our teeth into, and I’d like to start off with one of my more local ones.

Moses Odubajo of Leyton Orient is far too good for League One. As an East Londoner, I was fortunate enough to watch Orient in what was a highly successful season for them, and I was at Wembley for their ultimately disappointing play-off final. I was there to see Odubajo score a thunderbolt from outside the box as well as an assist and he was always exciting to watch. Apparently the two teams interested in him are Spurs and West Ham, and with the Olympic Park tension between the O’s and the Pikeys, don’t be surprised to see this young man in the lilywhite next season.

What’s really complicated in writing this article is that I’m looking forward to seeing players like Paulinho, Chiriches and the aforementioned Soldado and Lamela being vastly improved next term, which in itself will be like a whole bunch of new signings. For that reason, I’m not sure if we necessarily need a whole influx of new talent, and fail to see where players such as Ricky Alvarez or Memphis Depay would fit in. I just don’t think we need them.

Give me an open chequebook for Tottenham transfers and I’ll spend money on just two players. Romalu Lukaku would be an absolute bargain whatever the price and Luke Shaw would slot straight into our left back role under Pochettino’s style of play.

I wouldn’t mind Odubajo, there are fantastical rumours floating about as I write this regarding Esteban Cambiasso, which would be awesome if only for a season, but bring in Lukaku and Shaw and I’ll be absolutely buzzing for August.

THREE POINTS AGAINST WEST HAM!!

COME ON YOU SPURS!!

a fair comment.lots of players at spurs(old and new)played well below their potential owing to poor coaching.lennon and townsend have the potential to be twice the players they are now.time will tell.when players are picked for England and their own teams fans know they are not good enough . somethings wrong in English football.
