SPURS SECURE Second Spot After Comfortable Win Against “The Canaries”

Tottenham have climbed to second place in the Premier League following a 2-0 win and a professional team performance against a lacklustre Norwich side.

Spurs started the strongest and maintained a systematic rhythm with free flowing passing as well as interchangeable movement, causing all sorts of problems for the Norwich back line.

Gylfi Sigurdsson produced a man of the match performance with two goals and will have surely impressed the Spurs manager who is spoiled for choice in attacking areas.

The Icelandic international’s first goal was an expertly finessed finish which completed an excellent sequence of quick passes. Christian Eriksen’s sublime through ball to slip Sigurdsson into the area epitomised the exceptional move.

His second goal could not have been simpler as Paulinho provided him with a pin point, driven cross from the right hand side as he suddenly found himself with some space.

Christian Eriksen made his debut today and could not have been happier with his performance at White Hart Lane in front of the Spurs faithful.

His ability to come up with something special was a real handful for the opposition as he proved to be extremely difficult to pick up with his intelligent movement and precise passing.

Andros Townsend enjoyed another lively performance and was unlucky not to score considering that he had that most amount of shots when compared to any other Spurs player.

The new kid on the block was a constant thorn in the Norwich side as his marauding runs, both infield and out to the by-line, pinned the defenders back, causing spaces to appear for other attacking players.

Danny Rose also had a solid game in defence and also provided a decent attacking threat from the space vacated on the left when Sigurdsson moved infield.

Tottenham absolutely dominated from start to finish which was emphasised by the 23 to 5 ratio in favour of the home side as well as notching up 69% possession.

Spurs now sit pretty in second spot and will look to keep this great run going into the forthcoming fixtures as they look to challenge on all fronts this season.

They are certainly well equipped this year and many Spurs fans will hope there remains much more to come from their side as the season progresses, especially from £30 million signing, Erik Lamela.
