Hi all, it's been a while since I wrote my last article, so I hope you all had a merry Christmas and that your new year has started off well.
In terms of Spurs, it has been a month of ups and downs, starting with the sacking of AVB, continuing on with the permanent placement of Tim Sherwood as manager, two painful cup exits at the hands of arguably our two most hated rivals, but a very pleasing 13 points in Tim's five league games to keep even the most fickle of us from complaining too much.

In terms of our playing squad, it seems that our good friends in the media are at it again by claiming that all of our players will soon be out the door, whether they're not in the manager's plans, or have handed in a transfer request, nobody seems to know. I'll be honest, I was a bit iffy about Sherwood switching to a 4-4-2 formation, as I felt that with our first team as it is, the 4-5-1 was still the way forward. To be fair, though, the league results so far have left my concerns unfounded. There is obviously only two central positions up for grabs now, and it is hardly surprising that some of our midfielders are upset at a lack of playing time.
Sandro
Paulinho
Holtby
Dembele
Eriksen
Sigurdsson
Capoue
Bentaleb.
Let's not forget that both Jake Livermore and the ever-popular Tom Carroll are also in that mix as well and you have ten central men fighting for two places. Aaron Lennon seems, quite rightly in my opinion, to be Tim's first choice for the right, and as far as the left wing is concerned, his background with the youngsters would highly suggest that a fully fit Andros Townsend will get the nod. That leaves both Nacer Chadli, who this week rubbished reports of him being unhappy as bulls**t, and Erik Lamela, also missing out. Some may feel that this a headache any manager would love to have, but when you have a team full of internationals who all want first team football, having to juggle the good of the team with good man-management skills seems particularly tricky, especially when you consider that Tim Sherwood was one of the more outspoken of our then players who publicly abused Glenn Hoddle for not keeping his boys happy.
SO WHO ARE THE TWO TO START?
I, for one, won't beat about the bush. I genuinely don't know. The choices available make this an extremely difficult choice, and I truly enjoy seeing every single midfielder listed in the famous shirt.
I understand that this is not a very definitive and final report, but I guess that's my point, isn't it? It's all well and good when the results are going our way, but I most certainly wouldn't want to be the man picking the team when points seem hard to come by.
GOOD LUCK TIM!!
*Also, I just wanted to pay respect to Roger Lloyd-Pack, maybe best known to all as 'Trigger', a fantastic actor, a comic genius, and a lifelong Spurs fan. As a sign of respect to Roger, I know there are plans afoot for all those fortunate enough to be attending Sunday's match at the Liberty Stadium to all wear Hi-Viz jackets and sing songs in his honour. R.I.P. Roger.
As always, please leave your comments below (including your own tributes for 'Trigger', and please check out our e-Spurs Twitter and Facebook accounts.
