The future is lilywhite..…with a hint of Oranje??

So with 10 league games to go we are very much still in the hunt for the Top 4, and certainly no reason why we can’t push for Europa Success as well. When the final ball is kicked of the season we will see some massive decisions made off the field.

Vertonghen and Lloris need sitting down and put pen to paper on new deals, if we can keep Kaboul fit and healthy then he too needs a deal to keep him at the club, on his day one of the best center half's in the league.

Who will be our manager next season? Does it depend on the season outcome? For me, I pray that we ask Tim Sherwood to step aside and allow a more experienced man step in.

That man would be Louis Van Gaal, big rumours almost daily that he will be in the hot seat at the start of next season, already confirming he will step down from leading the Dutch after this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, very experienced, a huge character and managed some massive players in his career. To me a perfect fit for our club.

van Gaal - Spurs bound?
If not Van Gaal then second choice would be Frank De Boer, another Dutchman, has been very successful with Ajax and again another man who has made it no secret that he would like the challenges that managing a Premier League side brings, that one would no doubt be a favourite for ex-Ajax pair Vertonghen and Eriksen.

I'm not a massive fan of Sherwood, I think he is totally out of his depth and he is tactically inept. Having said that, I would keep him at the club as I do believe that he could become an excellent coach, especially if he was happy to work as a number 2. His two biggest tests so far as Spurs coach we lost away in the Cup to Arsenal and at home to City, it was a case of ‘boys against men’. It will be very interesting to see our upcoming results, especially away at Chelsea this Saturday and later in the month in the derby and away at Liverpool. Sherwood is very much a glorified caretaker, and with this appointment it has been made clear the board are waiting to see who becomes available after the season and also Brazil 2014.

In Closing, I would love for Sherwood to prove me wrong, and I’d love to see him get us that all important top 4 space. Come on Timmy - serve me up a huge portion of humble pie.

Do you think Sherwood is the right man for the Club?

Who’s your choice to take the club forward?

I too think the job is too big for Sherwood. As much as I would like to see Sherwood succeed I think it will be too big a gamble to keep him in the job for another season. Our players like Vertonghen and Lloris need to know that we mean business and by getting Van Gaal this would send out a big message. I just hope Man U don't sack Moyes because then we would have competition to get him and I'm afraid there will be only one outcome.

  2. For me, if Sherwood manages to do the unthinkable and guide us into the Top4, we have to continue with him for a while and see how he takes on from there. The thing I really like about him is his knowledge about our academy and the desire to promote them to the 1st team setup. For any succesful club, it is imperative to have a core of Academy talent within the team.I really want to see the likes of Tom Carroll, Andros Townsend, Livermore, Fredericks and Rose make it at Spurs for a sustained long term success.

Tim has proved himself and stepped up to the mark at a critical time. That said he is not quite ready for the job full time. However he is Spurs through and through and would be an ideal No2 to Van Gaal if that were to actually happen.

Lets get behind Tim for a good finish and decent run in the Europa Cup. Tim has done us proud after the sad AVB rubbish we had to endure this year.

  4. Laughably the only site headlining this as a fact ....only last week 'reported' Sandro's career was over only for the player to take the field only a day or so later? Hopefully Tim will steer the good ship Lilywhite home and give an Ade style salute to those who are not getting behind him and us at the time all the backings needed by the fans and th bloke who put him there!

Why do fans have such a dislike of Tim. Took over the complicated team and injuries of AVB. In the League his record is up there with the best. I'd live to see all these clever and knowlegable fans take over and try and better what he has done. My god! If Tim hadn't got Adebayor back in the team we would be 10th going down. Yes he's new to this but is an ex I international player who knows about winning. Most of his critics sitting at home playing with themselves.
LVG would be great but not now, its too late. Tim is there and doing a bloody good job.

Totally agree that we need LVG next season and Tim would be a good no 2 and learn from all of LVG's knowledge then Tim could take over proper with a wealth of tactical knowledge from LVG but i think Tim is too big headed and arrogant to take a backwards step, it would be the making of Tim i think but i can't see him agreeing to it and will probably leave and be a manager elsewhere.

Hi its Matt here, Can I remind everyone that Sherwood was appointed without his coaching badges, within the article I havent said I think Sherwood is doing a bad job, but I do think he would benefit massively by working alongside someone with experience like LVG, not so much De Boer admittingly. He would learn so much and I do consider that eventually he could be in a position to lead us for the longhaul. Also if you had read all the article I closed by saying I hope he proves me wrong..............A result Saturday will be a great start.........Time will tell.
