In recent years almost every single Tottenham fan has urged the club to sign another striker. Last season, our demands were not met, meaning we had one option in Harry Kane. Not a bad option by any means but it did create a few problems.

In tight contests where teams sat back, allowed us to have the ball and asked if we could break them down, we found it difficult with only one up top. Kane also went through games where he looked overworked and tired as he played in almost every match.
Fast-forward a year later however and the club splashed out £21million on Dutch International Vincent Janssen and it didn't take him long to make an impact. His introduction against Everton changed the game, allowing us to play two strikers, giving the defence something different to think about.
We finally had a Plan B.
However, on Saturday, with us playing Crystal Palace at home, a team known for sitting with 11 men behind the ball, myself and many other supporters wanted Pochettino to play Janssen along side Kane and when the team-sheet was released, we had our wish. The first 25 minutes saw us go close on many occasions with Kane and Janssen linking up well.
But with the goal not coming, the fans began to get frustrated, leading us to rush our passes and giving the ball away. With the second half being a much tighter contest, I started to wonder “who do we have on the bench to make a difference?”
With the exception of Dele Alli, who, when he was brought on almost made an instant impact, we really didn't have anyone else who could come on and change the course of the game. Carroll, Mason and Onomah have been given chances but have failed to impress. Davies and Carter-Vickers are defenders.
When Janssen or even Kane start from the bench, it won't be as much of a problem as we can change formation and throw on the extra striker. But with Janssen in the starting line up on Saturday, our Plan B suddenly became our Plan A and with us struggling to break Palace down, we didn't have many options to change the game as they were all already on the pitch.
With 2 weeks until the transfer window slams shut, we can only hope that deals are still to be done or we could very well be showing our hand, too early.
