During the summer transfer window, six of our players left White Hart Lane on a temporary basis. Two loans may become permanent transfers by the end of the season, while the other four are aimed at giving some of our younger players valuable first team football.

Throughout the course of this season I shall be providing monthly update on how our loanees are getting on at their respective clubs.
Due to the majority of our loan deals being concluded towards the end of the summer transfer window, this first report contains updates from both August and September.
Federico Fazio - AS Roma (Italy)
Our Argentine defender was the first player to leave White Hart Lane, joining Serie A Giants AS Roma on a season long loan. Having spent last season on loan at Sevilla, it will not come as a surprise to many that Roma have the option of making this transfer permanent.
Fazio enjoyed a mixed start to life in the Italian capital. Both his European and domestic debuts were from the bench, and he was an unused substitute in Roma's 0-3 home defeat to FC Porto in the second leg of their Champions League playoff, despite one of their first choice defenders being suspended. Things improved for Fazio during September however, with him playing the full 90 minutes in five of their six matches, scoring his first goal in the 4-0 home victory over FC Astra in The Europa League.
Nabil Bentaleb - FC Schalke 04 (Germany)
Nabil Bentaleb joined Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 on a season long loan towards the end of August. Like with Federico Fazio at Roma, the German side have the option of making Bentaleb's loan permanent. The chances are this will happen following Mauricio's admission that the Algerian international no longer featured in his first team plans.
Since coming off the bench to make his debut against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 27th, Bentaleb has played every minute of every subsequent match, registering one assist, as well as one booking, in the process. Schalke have endured a terrible start to their league campaign, losing all five of their domestic encounters throughout August and September. Bentaleb has tasted victory in a Schalke shirt however, as they recorded victories in both of their Europa League group games.
Will Miller - Burton Albion
Highly rated young forward Will Miller joined Burton Albion in August, on an initial loan until January, though the Sky Bet Championship new boys do have the option to extend. This loan creates a fantastic opportunity to Will Miller, with the combination of the number of fixtures and size of Burton's squad, ensuring first team chances will be given.
Since Joining The Brewers, Miller has played four games, including a winning debut against Derby County. In total Miller has started two games, made two appearances from the bench, and scored one goal, a 94th minute equaliser away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Clinton N'Jie - Olympique Marseille (France)
Clinton joined French side Marseille on a season long loan as part of the deal that brought Georges-Kévin N'Koudou to White Hart Lane. The Cameroon international moved after Mauricio Pochettino made it clear his first team opportunities would be limited this season. There are no plans to make N'Jie's loan permanent at the moment, though this could change if he is a success.
Since moving to Marseille Clinton has made four appearances. His debut came in a 3-2 away defeat to surprise package Nice, while his first start also ended in defeat by the same score line, though he did set up the goal that gave Marseille a 2-1 lead. Clinton opened his account for Marseille last time out, scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 home win over Nantes.
Luke McGhee and Nathan Oduwa - Peterborough United
At the end of the transfer window, youngsters Luke McGhee and Nathan Oduwa joined Sky Bet League One side Peterborough United on loan until January. Both loans can be extended and are aimed at giving both players first team opportunities.
Luke McGhee has played every minute of every game since joining The Posh, though he is yet to taste victory, having drawn three and lost one of his four games for the club. McGhee could have done better with a couple of the goals he has conceded, though in his most recent outing against Shrewsbury Town, McGhee pulled off a couple of very decent saves, and also saved a second half penalty.
Unlike McGhee, Nathan Oduwa has found minutes very limited at London Road, having made his only appearance to date from the substitutes bench in the 1-1 home draw to Walsall.
