e-Spurs Transfer Centre: Rumour of the Day

Another day, another striker linked to Tottenham Hotspur. This time, Porto's 26 year old Colombian striker, Jackson Martinez is the man.

For Porto, Martinez has displayed an unreal goalscoring record, 25 goals in 26 games. He can score a goal from anywhere with his tremendous shooting ability while getting open with impressive off the ball movement. He is a poacher who instinctively finds himself in the box in open areas and finishes, unlike our current inconsistent crop of forwards.

He is agile, shows good acceleration and has no shortage of skill and the total package produces a player that has gotten the better of defenders all over the continent including PSG superstar Thiago Silva.
At 6'1 and 170 pounds, he has the size and strength to battle and excel game in and game out throughout the EPL campaign. He would be a good fit at Tottenham but his reported £33.4m valuation makes a deal extremely unlikely. Porto's Chairman is as difficult of a negotiator as Levy is and that combination further complicates any potential deal.

Likelihood: 2.5/10
