The e-Spurs Daily Dose 27.08.13

Catch the e-Spurs Daily Dose each night at 9pm! Tonight's Daily Dose by Mark Viales.

Good evening Spurs Fans!

Today’s Daily Dose features the Bale saga twisting to the point of dizziness as Guillem Balagué demonstrates exactly the kind of soap opera press Spanish people love, the exponential rise of Townsend and a transfer merry-go-round showing signs of spinning off the rail!

¿Por Qué Guillem?

Our good old friend, Guillem Balagué A.K.A, chief “tapper upper”, has been at it again with his latest article. This time he claims that Baldini was in Madrid on Friday due to there being so many loose ends left to iron out. He also states that Levy has been angered by the premature unveiling of Bale on the club’s website, selling shirts marked “Bale 11” and the large, immortalising podium they are constructing for their latest Galactico. He goes on to say that the “coincidental” meeting of Bale and Florentino Perez has prompted Levy to say “No more!” Now RM will need to wait for Spurs to do business, ominously adding, “This will depend on many things”.

Apparently Gareth, whose head is not right at the moment, was allowed to travel to Marbella in Spain in order to escape distractions.

AVB has said before that players are not required to frequent the stadium if they are injured…I think this is standard.

RM were said to have offered £85m in four or six instalments, “here they may be some discrepancies”… (Oh really? Just in this section right? Ok then.)

This, allegedly, has sent Ronaldo, who is currently in negotiations to sign a new contract, into a rampant rage where he’s thrown his toys out the pram in disgust at the possibility that he will no longer be the world’s most expensive player.

“It is not a matter of jealously (obviously), but rather of hierarchy. If RM really do want to keep Ronaldo, they will need prove that with their available means,”

17m Euros net per year as it happens!

The message from the Portuguese is: “let’s see what happens with Bale before signing anything”…the plot thickens.

The “accident” which occurred on the website, has finally tried DL’s patience and when he found out that there was only 3 hours separating Bale and Perez’s arrival in Marbella, he felt that was certainly a lack of tact on their part. Florentino promised DL that it was only to meet up with a renowned footballing personality. Bale stayed in a villa owned by his agent John Barnett’s company…Naturally Levy will accept this as a matter of course, with no consequences and negotiations will continue as normal right? WRONG!

As a result of this, Tottenham have revealed that there have been other offers for the footballer. They could be from Man Utd, Chelsea, or PSG and, although the Bale
entourage is not aware of this, DL is willing to negotiate. The wish of the English club is not to sell; however, they are aware of the player’s desire to join the Bernabeu.

Balagué eloquently ends the article with more trivial scenarios, with multiple variables, depending on certain occurrences…sigh.

The decision regarding Bale will depend on which signings will come to fruition in the following days as DL will not accept for Spurs to be weaker than last season. They are interested in Mata and another determining factor will be the North London Derby.

Negotiations have not ceased but Levy holds all the cards.

Another brilliant entry by everyone’s favourite media whore, Guillem Balagué.

Other transfer news:

Yes there’s actually other transfer news!

Our pursuit of Hulk looks like hitting a dead end following comments from Zenit Manager, Luciano Spalletti, stating rather flatly that, “Hulk is not for sale,” This was most likely a non starter either way as his transfer fee and wages would almost be as monstrous as the ball of muscle mass that is the Hulk.

Lamela is set to join Spurs. The young Argentinean winger will reportedly be signed for around £30m and offered a £66,000-a-week contract. He was left out of the starting line-up in Roma’s game against Livorno on Sunday and his brother, Brian Lamela, is following a number of Spurs associated twitter accounts, including that of yours truly.

Some links with Mata are filtering through as the player’s lack of involvement against United inevitably triggers rumours that the player is available. He was Cheatski’s best player last season; it’s unlikely they will let him go.

Paul Pogba is by far and away the most unlikely rumour I have seen. We have just splashed out on Paulinho and Capoue, both who play in that position, not to mention a certain beast called Sandro who we have coming back.

Moyes, although saying that Man Utd are always interested in the best players, has denied that a bid has been made for Gareth Bale.

England Selection:

In the squad we have Kyle Walker, Jermaine Defoe and an in form Andros Townsend.
Of the three I am most excited to see the young winger selected and I really hope he gets some playing time. Roy Hodgson did say that he was in the team on merit, so let’s hope he continues this form into the North London Derby!

COYS!

So glad to hear that Tottenham are standing up to dirty madrid. Their lack of respect, bullying and mind games are nothing short of disgraceful. Alex Ferguson summed them up best when he called them the "Mafia" and said "I would not sell them a cold" Money is nice but, Respect, Admiration and ambitions are better(IMO)and Tottenham will not be cutting off their noses...

I'm glad Levy is putting the pressure on RM to finally agree to our terms. I think it is very unlikely another club out there are insane enough to pay upwards of 60m for the player. I speak for a lot of people when I say this is becoming a ridiculous situation and extremely boring. With the media feeding frenzy that's been going on for 2 months and GB dressing like CR..The glasses and backwards cap etc. It really is making me sick of the sight of him and would love for the deal to be completed and hes gone.

Only problem RM havent got the doe and likely end scenario will be the toxic situation will just get worse and everyone will be glad to see the back of him. Just like Modric last year.

I adore Bale for what he did last season and I get why he wants to play for RM but I cant stand to see him anymore. Please just go and be apart of the circus in Spain.

I hope Levy taking this hard line will work well for us and Arsenal don't get the players form RM before the window shuts.

Fingers crossed we get Lamela sorted out soon. Sunday will be an interesting game to say the least.

This 'payments over six years' thing is absolute nonsense. Effectively what it is saying is "RM will have all the benefits of having him on the pitch and all of the revenues accrued and will yearly give us less than we would have made yearly by keeping him"!

Get the fook outta here - if you can't afford him, clear off!
