Going Down Swinging

So, is this very public display by Tim Sherwood all part of his 'grand plan', or is it simply a case of a man going down swinging.

Tim has been very public is his opinions on everything about our club in recent weeks. From the lack of character, to players playing for their future and then his confidence that he will still be in charge next year. It’s almost as if he is daring Levy to sack him.

Today’s reports now have him going at Levy again regarding Transfer policy, Stating that no one will be signed unless he says so. That would suggest that Baldini is surplus to requirements, or that he would just be doing the negotiating, which we all know is what Daniel likes to do.

A thinly veiled pop at LVG was included in his press conference. I'm not sure what Tim is playing at here. Is he saying 'I will be manager, but on my own terms only'? Or is he saying 'I will cause as much grief for you as I can, so when I go you look a bit of a mug'?

Whilst I admire Tim's passion at the helm, I do feel that some of his behaviour is similar to that of a spoilt child, throwing tantrums, throwing items of clothing even. Then there's the arguing on the touchline and coming out and slagging off certain players (although that was warranted). It’s all very good having the passion and emotion but it’s really not what we need at the helm.

Other more sensible and calculating managers can see how easy it is to get under Tim's skin, this is a big weakness, a character flaw if you’d rather. In the modern game we hear constantly about mind games, the psychological side of the game is becoming more important. Well I’m not so sure that Tim could win any sort of mind battle, he may win the fight but I don’t think he would win a war.

Better and more mind savvy managers see will see this as a weakness and will target winding Tim up. If he is wound up and angry then how can his decision making be spot on? Let’s be honest, some of his behaviour has been quite embarrassing to watch and not really in keeping with the dignified way the club operates.

Looking at Tim, he really seems confident that he will be at the helm next season, which is very different to when he took the job on, mooting that if we didn’t get top 4 he wouldn’t be in charge. So what has changed? Does he know something that we don’t? Has he been given some assurances from Levy? Has LVG told spurs to do one? He must know something; why else would he seemingly be publicly goading Levy.

Is it moaning? Or is it just opinion,i agree that some of TS behavior is at best shameful and un becoming of that of tottenham manager. If you read correctly the author actually admires the passion displayed by TS.Again how can an angry man make the correct decisions should changes need to be made ?

Supporting the team does not mean one can not have an opinion ,The fact you use the term support or FO means your opinion is different.Maybe you should put it into words for us all to read
