Sign our petition - Levy/ENIC

Express your lack of confidence in ENIC and Daniel Levy’s day to day management of THFC by signing our petition here:

http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/daniel-levy-the-directors-and-management-of-tottenham-hotspur-football-club-this-petition-is-intended-as-a-vote-of-no-confidence-in-daniel-levy-enic-and-their-management-of-thfc-our-reasons-are-listed-below

In ENIC’s 13 year tenure, “THFC the business” has been run adequately, but at the cost of “THFC the football team.”

This is evidenced in two immediate ways; the continuous selling of our best players and the inability to recruit and as crucially, support in a genuinely effective manner, the right manager.

Other ongoing issues:

StubHub: A device encouraging fans to rip each other off, as well as provide ENIC with data as to what “the market” will stand for future ticket price increases.

The Y Word: ENIC issued banning orders upon fans (that it encouraged the police to arrest) before trial. The case was dismissed. The reputations of 3 ordinary fans were stamped upon.

Managers: 10 managers in 13 years. When does it stop being the employee’s fault and start being the recruiter’s?

Selling Club: Across the top 5 global football leagues, THFC are top when it comes to selling to rivals in those top 5 leagues. A business 1st; a football team 2nd.

Autonomy & Micro-managing: The spending of £100m+ in the August 2013 smacked of an inability to trust and invest in a manager. No club in the history of football has bought so many players at once and succeeded.

DoF: A system that has systematically failed in the EPL, yet one ENIC appear obsessed in adopting, despite all the evidence.

Football and business are not mutually exclusive entities. In 2014, they cannot afford to be.

We believe that if the recent examples of both LFC (in relation to Suarez) and MUFC (in relation to Rooney) had been mirrored; in relation to retaining the services of their best players, then the integrity of Spurs would have been equally protected and enhanced.

ENIC have had over a decade in which to excel, supported by a significant fan base. So far we have a League Cup win, a training ground and a Sainsbury’s.

The alternative to failing to achieve a top 4 spot, is not “to do a Leeds.” Spurs need an investor that can apply business acumen in a manner whereby the football is on a par with the Profit & Loss columns.

We are not walking wallets, we are the lifeblood.

I think you might want to wind your necks in a little and be careful of what you wish for. Remember the state we were in when Levy and ENIC took over? We could be back there in a flash. They have run the club impeccably and it's all too easy to criticise when you don't have to answer to anyone. The jump from 5th to 4th is not easy - especially for a club of our capacity. The fact we're even talking about it as a possibility is a minor miracle. Think long and hard about the alternatives to Levy's buy low, sell high strategy - without a large capacity stadium what are they in actual fact?

This is just ridiculous. The obvious argument is to look where we were before ENIC took control of the club.

But even more importantly is the fact that there is still a major push towards Tottenham becoming an elite club, and unfortunately, a big part of that is financial management.

This selling club rubbish is very harsh. Berbatov, Modric, Bale all were desperate to leave and we received good money for all of them.

The 7 players we've signed of course were not all going to hit the ground running. The decision to sack AVB was a poor one for that exact reason, but they are all young players (except Soldado) and could easily prosper in the next 5 seasons.

We are building a new stadium worthy of a far bigger club which will generate far higher revenues and attract a higher standard of player.

The fact that the club is so well run financially is one of the major reasons behind our progress in the last 7-8 years and we are still in a very good position to push on in the future. People need to stop being so knee jerk and accept that one bad season is inevitable in times of transition.

Its all very well saying be careful what you wish for but unless Spurs are careful we could be right back where we were before ENIC arrived. No new ground, disgruntled players (lets face it Vertongen doesnt want to be at Spurs next season, Lloris deserves to play in CL) I cannot see Spurs breaking into top 4 ever again. With a resurgent Liverpool and Man U , which TWO teams does anyone see Spurs overhauling for CL. So get real. Protest or Petition, right or wrong, Spurs need to be run properly as a football club playing the football. The financial side is dead easy when all you have to make sure is the books balance. A spreadsheet takes care of that!! ENIC/Levy have proved they cant take it to the next level. FACT!!!

A well constructed and articulate piece with no irrational ranting. However, the only way customers can demonstrate disillusionment with the owners of a concern is to boycott it. That is, to hit it in the pocket. Unfortunately because of the nature of football support, which transcends normal laws of custom, we know and, more importantly, they know this will not happen. Therefore effect will be limited.
That is not to say that a cohesive voice expressing valid concerns cannot be heard by the board. Personally I think this is best done via The Supporters' Trust.
The board are nowhere near transparent enough or forthcoming with information on key points. For example, the progress of the stadium which seems to have stalled. The role of the Director of Football in relation to transfer policy. Day to day playing matters such as injury status. This leads to speculation and rumour which is dividing the fans and seriously diluting the support.
Although the board have done a fantastic job in stabalising the club and ensuring its future for several generations to come, they have not achieved the target of a continued and increased assault on the established top 4 in the Premier League and are not in apparent disarray with a bleak outlook. We have suffered far too many embarrassing encounters and we need to hear something that will make us feel more positive about the season and seasons to come.

Absolute rubbish, we were terrible before ENIC took over and we need to accept in the current financial climate we are exactly where we should be

  7. This is up there with man united fans ''Moyes Out" banner. Very embarrassing and ill thought out. Do we get rid of Levy/Enic before or after they bring Van Gaal in?

Lloris deserves to be in the CL? What a load of rubbish

The same moronic reasoning that those retards Berbatov, Modric and Bale used. In all three cases their career has gone down the tubes as they sit on the bench or play second fiddle to the Ronaldos, Benzemas, Tevezs and Rooneys
