To add to Tottenham’s increasing list of problems, star goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has privately said he wants to leave Spurs this summer.
The French international, who came to White Hart Lane for only £8m, is unhappy with the lack of ambition shown by the club and players. He has also made it clear that he is troubled by the appointment of manager Tim Sherwood.
The French captain is used to playing Champions League football and simply won’t settle for finishing this season out of the qualification zone, and even worse, out of Europe altogether.
The North Londoners have slipped to seventh place in the Premier League and with Manchester United’s form improving; they will be difficult to catch, which potentially could mean missing out on European football for next season.
Monaco are looking for a top quality goalkeeper to lead their Champions League campaign next season and it could be that Lloris has moved to the top of their shortlist.
