There it goes again. Down another foxhole. Hunt as they might, every time Tottenham glimpse the title it disappears in the flash of a brushy tail.

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Brom - Venue: White Hart Lane

The chase remains thrilling and Pochettino's litter still have the scent in their nostrils. Spurs have scored more goals than Leicester and also conceded fewer. They've become scintillating to watch.

Consistency brings titles. Tottenham were winless in their opening four games of the season, how they must wish they began as strongly as they are finishing.

The stakes are huge. If Tottenham lose to West Brom, Leicester would only need one more win to guarantee the title.

View of the e-Spurs Podcast Team

Jason's View

We’ll all agree that last weeks win at Stoke was one of the most stunning wins we’ve had for many years. 4-0 actually flattered Stoke. The entire team were outstanding with the exception of Hugo who barely had anything to do.

Listeners to the extra-time podcast will have heard me give my Player of the Season to Kane, and Monday showed just why. His first goal was fantastic, his second came after he headed the ball clear from their corner and he made a run the full length of the pitch to finish the move off. What a fantastic season he has had, and he starts the pressing at the top end of the pitch, which dictates our style of play. Toby has been excellent, defending, assisting and scoring, but Harry has gone beyond all expectations this season.

West Brom will arrive at the Lane on the back of 4 straight defeats, the last of which came at a half-empty and toxic filled Emirates. They were well beaten in reality and looked a poor side. That was their 7th away defeat of the season, and they have won just once in their last 12 away games. However, it’s not since 3rd January 2012 that we have beaten them at White Hart Lane, with their last 3 visits finishing 1-1, 1-1 and 0-1. That 0-1 last season started a few people to suggest that Pochettino was the wrong man for the job including one of the E-Spurs podcast guests at the time.

It will be interesting to see if Pulis picks Berahino, and if so, just how he plays. He’s looked out of form lately, and it would not surprise me if Pulis left him out as I suspect Pulis will feel he won’t be fully committed if he does play. Whilst Pulis is not greatly liked by many, and his football is not great to watch, you have to have huge respect for the jobs he did at Stoke, at Palace and now at West Brom. He gets the most out of his players and West Brom have never been close to the relegation zone all season.

As always with a Pulis side, I expect to see plenty of pulling, and blocking in the penalty areas from set pieces, and it will be important that we defend those properly.

With the quality we have, and if the performance is even half as good as that at Stoke, I’m confident we can win the game, and the clever movement and passing between Alli, Eriksen and Kane will I am sure open WBA up enough times, An early goal would be great, but the important thing is to stay calm and patient. I’m going for a 2-0 win.
