Embrace of a stranger

Human nature can be somewhat strange
People can by shy and keep to themselves
Other people can be very receptive
...
And you will see where this poem delves

You will see complete and utter strangers
Every single day and probably for many years
The chances are you will never meet them again
And their voices will fall on deaf ears

You will take your seat at white hart lane
And thousands of faces you will see in that day
Thousands of complete unknown strangers
Joined together to watch Tottenham play

Then that special moment happens
As that ball hits the back of the net
You immediately jump off your purchased seat
Then throw your hands around anyone you get

For that very split second moment
You embrace your friend for life
You hug and shake hands with this person
It could be someone's father or some other blokes wife

That goal brings a stadium together
As complete strangers become completely united
That shyness becomes a thing of the past
You don't care because your delighted

Then you settle back down in your seat
And it may happen again in that game
But as that whistle blasts at the end
You start to filter your way out of the lane

That person you shared so much happiness with
Is one you may again never ever meet
If it weren't for that Tottenham goal that day
You would probably just walk past on the street

Inner feelings and personality is gone
As that roar from the crowd lifts the ground
You are now a part of white hart lanes cheer
Much spurs loving can be seen all around

So strangers will embrace and be soul mates
For that time that the game starts again
Strangers who will never be that close again
But who you will remember from that goal at the lane

Goals and love for Tottenham
Make every person a part of a tribe
All because of that special spurs bond
And because of the love you can't hide

Don't be a stranger
