David Villa 'Very Close' to Joining Spurs

So as we tweeted just after 1am last night it appears that senior Levy fancies a new Villa in Barcelona. No we don't mean a fancy new-build luxury apartment on the Med but the top Spanish goalscorer of all time and want-away striker David Villa.

News broke last night on Spanish radio station Cadena Ser informing us that a deal was close with only minor details to be sorted and this was then confirmed by Website Mundo Deportivo and reported in the UK here.

A fee of £12m is reported and whilst this may seem very un Levy like to pay such a high fee for a 31 year old, AVB is reported to have been central to persuading the striker to join Spurs.

As always, believe nothing till you see David Villa holding that lilywhile shirt but the transfer rumour mill is up and running!

this would be a great signing for spurs not only on the football side but it may just keep gareth bale at the club to. this signing would show intent and ambition and give us another dimension up front.wherever this guy has gone he has scored goals.this would certainly be a great coup for the club

  4. As already has been said until he is on the Spurs Official website holding the shirt smiling next to AVB we should treat this with caution. I can believe it to be true and it certainly will break the mould that we conduct our transfer business early but you only have to look at the season Vertonghen has had to prove how the earlier the signing the more time they have to gel with the squad and start performing from the first game of the season. Let's hope this is true and he comes and bangs in 20 + goals next season. COYS!!

He is past it, might get 6 months out of the musketeer.

    would prefer cockatoo upfront.

im a spurs fan hahah loool u really think this is going to happen lool what will happen is this .....NOTHING as usual. levy will fuck us up once again, this is spurs' summer window. sell some fringe players get money together buy one or two players, cut the team short again and a repeat of this season will happen again next season and IF bale is still here for next season, he will be gone the season after.

I think 31 years old stricker is not a good choice for spurs. because Adebayor has 29 years and Defoe 30.
