This is another exciting player to be linked to. Rodrigo is an all around forward that would be deployed out wide for Tottenham. He is a very bright prospect and in this highlight video Rodrigo highlights he reminds me a bit of Angel di Maria. His quickness, clever movement and strong instincts lead him to scoring goals and creating chances.
His style of play fits perfectly for the more open Portuguese league but players such as Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo have fit into the more physical English Premier League. Brazilian league players such as Oscar have a similar skill set to Rodrigo and have fit in also.
He could fill a big role at Tottenham, probably starting off as the first winger off the bench and being a successful spot starter. At 22, he is on the verge of breaking out or failing to fulfil his immense potential. It would be a very worthy gamble to pay between 5-10 million for his services. Benfica players have done well in other leagues after leaving the club and their senior squad is difficult to break into.
Rodrigo will be on full display in Israel over the next few weeks for the U-21 Euro's for Spain. I believe that he wears #9 so keep an eye out for him and take your chance to see a very good prospect and hopefully one that will be wearing Lillywhite.
