Well after all the transfer gossip which had been at fever pitch since Xmas, this week has been very quiet on the western front.
We got a draw at Hull which wasn’t great we all moaned and groaned, It wasn’t the fact we only drew but it was more about the seemingly lack lustre performance, forgetting that Liverpool lost there. The following day Liverpool only managed a draw as well so that eased things a little and meant the draw did us minimal damage.
This Sunday however brings a far more important game against Everton. I won’t dwell on already written about issues but let’s hope we get behind the team and not the usual 15 minutes of cheering followed by 75 minutes of berating the lads.
The Premier League management merry go round has continued with Swansea dumping Laudrup. I’m certain he won’t be the last one out the door this season, Its actually becoming stupid, there’s teams that have changed their manager once this season and these new managers seem to be under pressure already. Tim Sherwood apparently is included in this. Whether this is by supporters or certain members’ of the press is irrespective. If we got 20 supporters and asked who they would have wanted as manager after AVB went I’m pretty certain we would’ve had at least 5 different names in the hat. So simply there will always be a lot of people that will be upset by any given managers posting to a job. How many united supporters were happy to see Moyes get the job, I wonder if they are all still 100% behind them.
I will put my hand up and say right now I was and still am disappointed by Tim getting the job. However he is in charge and he needs the supporters to get behind him as much as the team.
Now for one reason or another there are various reports saying a deal for Louis Van Gaal or LVG as he is known is in place for next season. Allegedly that’s why no money was spent in January that’s why Tim got the short contract Blah Blah Blah.It must be true mustn’t it? We love someone like LVG he fits just like AVB or VDV.
Let’s hope Levy and the board get it right, one false move and our next manager could be RVB or MVG and we will have a dart board up in the dugout and be playing in lime green.
