Performance of the season – Newcastle 0 – 4 Tottenham

After the 5-1 loss at home against Man City, I was thinking here we go again! The performance against Hull didn’t make me think it was going to improve or the way we played against Everton, even though we won, but we managed to grind out the result. Then what a performance on Wednesday, Tottenham are back playing exciting free flowing football (at least for one game!). I actually enjoyed watching Tottenham again, no negativity and it looked like we could score at will. With Kaboul and Vertonghen playing well with the superb Lloris behind them and Adebayor terrorising defences, I thought it was a good team performance. All season we have been good away from home but if we can start playing good football and winning at home than anything is possible. With only the EURO cup and the Premier League to think about now, hopefully this form can continue for the rest of the season and maybe this could be our chance of achieving something great this season. After all ‘TO DARE IS TO DO’.

Shaping up for the top 4

Signing no one in the January transfer window was brave from Tim Sherwood, but now the players are coming back from injuries we might just be alright. With Vertonghen back fit looking good, as well as Kaboul and Sandro to come back into the midfield we are going to be spoilt for choice. Adebayor is like a new signing and Bentalab I have been very impressed with his work rate and eye for a good pass make him a good asset to have. I do however feel that March is a big month for us with games against Arsenal (H), Chelsea (A) and Liverpool (A) this could be pivotal in the race for the top 4. We are only 12 games away until the end of the season and I agree with Tim Sherwood it will go down to the wire for the Premier League title, Champions League positions and the relegation battle. Let’s get behind the lads and up the Spurs J COYS!

As a Toon fan don't take this Newcastle result as being significant as far as Spurs season goes, with a significantly reduced first team we we're there for the taking Hartlepool could have beaten us. If you had played us two weeks previous with the team we were putting out then, we would have probably won at a canter.

Yeah Newcastle are going through a rough time at the moment and sold their best player in January and missed Remy up front. However, if you remember at White Hart Lane earlier in the season, Spurs battered Newcastle then and if it wasn't for Krul you may have lost 4-1!

If it wasn't for Krul in the home game we might have won, he was atrocious. Swings and roundabouts and your keeper was outstanding he saved at least three what otherwise would have been certain goals.

Fair play, cannot argue with that.
