Sorry Pochettino, you may never leave us

Here we are at the start of February - sitting above City and Arsenal with the youngest team in the league. We have a squad that just seems to keep improving - not just individually with the likes of young prodigy Dele Alli, but cohesively, as a team unit. A lot of this is the fruition of a very good manager - one with a strong philosophy and a clear plan forward: Pochettino.

Article by James Forster

Harry Kane was quoted recently saying that the current team spirit is the best he's ever experienced; this was after a training camp in Barcelona, which will be sure to rejuvenate our players before the run in towards May. This spirit extends to the fans. For as long as I remember, I cannot think of a time I've felt so connected to the club. I believe in the direction we are going and I'm genuinely excited - I know this resonates with the majority of the fanbase.

It is clear that the players love Pochettino - they've all bought into his philosophy and the perks of that are showing on field. Players such as Vertonghen have found new vigour and Lloris was quoted as saying he was thinking of leaving Spurs before Pochettino was appointed. This man management ability Pochettino possesses often goes unnoticed by many because of his strength in other areas such as his focus on youth.

Now we're in second place, only five points off Leicester. A trip to Manchester City which would once send dread throughout my veins looms this weekend. For the first time in years, I feel confident. This team Poch has built are no walk overs - they're tough and have a strong backbone - they fight for each other, for the shirt we love, for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Who honestly would've thought we'd be fighting on three fronts: Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup as well as having the best goal difference and defence in the league? All with the youngest team. Phenomenal.

With all that is going well, inevitably, murmurings gather pace that bigger clubs are interested in Pochettino. United have started to be linked with Pochettino this week. My response to this is why would he go? I don't think I'm being arrogant when I say that our squad is better than theirs. Not just in player potential, but currently with the likes of Kane, Alli, Eriksen all firing. The future is so bright for Spurs.. Our players are hungry and determined and there is a new exciting stadium on the way. Pochettino is building a project and was even quoted saying he wanted to create a legacy at our club.

"I work so that if one day I am not here, there will be a legacy. It's always my way to work, not only for the present and for quick results, but to create the future."

As a die hard Spurs fan - I love this team and I love what Pochettino is doing to our club. It is incredible seeing the transformation from the shambles we were left in after Sherwood's disastrous stint. The feeling at the club is incredible and there is so much unity - ranging from the players to the fans.

Dare we dream? Could we actually win the league? I'm not sure - but what I do know is Pochettino is embracing a core motto that has made our club so great - To dare is to do. We are putting ourselves in a great position and it will be so interesting to see how the next few months unravel.

Sorry Pochettino, you may never leave us.. but why on earth would you want to? COYS

Is this The Sun's way of trying to de-rail our run just as they did with the Harry for England rumour?

  3. How can you say Sheriff was a disaster when he has the highest average points per game in the 20 years? He was a stop gap and played harry Kate and bentaleb

    1. Hi mate - i found the club to be in a mess after Sherwood's reign. The split between the club and fans was huge and there were a lot of disillusioned players who wanted to leave the club if Sherwood had continued on.. It wasn't as much the football or results. He publicly slated our players also. Just an opinion. COYS
