I am old enough to have watched Jimmy Greaves play regularly at White Hart Lane, and I can tell you he is the best goal scorer that I have ever seen.
That includes Best, Lineker, Klinsman or Shearer!

I began supporting Tottenham as a youngster because of Jimmy Greaves. He is the best goal scorer I have seen and still remember some of his goals. He scored with such ease. Brilliant player!

  3. not only is Greavsie Spurs greatest ever scorer, he was England's best ever and one of the best the world has ever seen. He was brilliant. If he played today his value would be astronomical, higher than Bale. I idolised him as a kid, as did many spurs fans. Greavsie was God

The best?? most certainly. He would make a mockery of any modern day defender. He could score goals for fun, and on any playing surface. Some of the mud fields players of his day had to cope with meant nowt to him, he would just skate over them, skip any tackle and score. Watch an old grainy video of him scoring against Leicester City (think its Leicester!!) WHL mud heap, picking the ball up on half way line, no more needs to be said!!
