This won’t hurt one bit…..
Welcome to the Daily Dose. This is where we will take today’s news about Tottenham Hotspur and remove all the filler, leaving behind only the meaty goodness for you to savour. Plus as most of the news concerning our beloved Spurs is a step lower than absolute drivel, you won’t have to be subjected to reading articles that will probably lower your intelligence. That burden is mine to bear….your welcome. So let’s get this thing started.
Transfers
It seems that Madrid made two offers for our Welsh wizard, £70 mil one-time payment or £86 mil in instalments, both far off from the £100+ mil figure that has been mooted the past few weeks. I’m sure Levy will respond to these offers with “poner su dinero donde está su boca” (put your money where your mouth is) and in all likelihood, this saga will go down to the wire. Whoo-friggin-hoo.
Mourinho is a douchebag. I used to think he was funny and suave, now he is just a bully. That’s fine. I am sure we will be doing most of the bullying later this season which is why you bought a player who we were in the middle of performing a medical on, just to spite AVB and Spurs. Well-played sir and I hope Willian enjoys his place on the bench. But the reckoning will be coming for you Jose.
Erik Lamela was listed in the AS Roma squad for this weekend’s match against Livorno. Is there anything to this “news”? Doubt it. It’s just a way to try to squeeze a few more dollars from Levy, in my opinion. He will be with Spurs by next week as our Bale replacement. And as I do frequently watch the Serie A, he is a great player who can take the Welshman’s spot and perform at the expected high level.
Vlad ChricheÅŸ, the central defender from Steaua Bucharest, looks like he may finally be on his way to Tottenham. He is definitely a solid player, but I would still prefer the other CB we have been linked to, Toby Alderweireld from Ajax. Toby is a little younger and has worked in a system similar to Spurs, not to mention his familiarity with Jan Vertonghen. But I would be happy with either, to be honest.
The European Adventure Begins
I gotta be honest, this Georgia is NOT on my mind. Cold, dark and with a healthy dose of dreariness, the place looked like a good place to drop off a few bodies. Regardless, we trounced the Georgian champions, Dinamo Tbilisi, in their own house and in doing so, rendered the second leg a formality as we can send out a young, inexperienced squad to save the big boys for the North London Derby. Kudos to Townsend for playing a blinder and Capoue bossing the midfield, yes it was against lesser opposition, but you can only beat who is in front of you.
Final Thoughts
Other than these transfer rumours and deals, nothing much to report on the news front. Tomorrow, we will at least be able to report on some actual football being played, which is good considering these articles should centre around football being played on the pitch, not in the boardrooms of rich Russians and crafty Spaniards. Oh well, at least it keeps me in business. Thanks for the read everyone!
