Hanukkah hits the Spurs

The story of Hanukkah hits the Yid army. We had only enough money for 1 player but it miraculously became 8. Eriksen, Lamela, Chiriches, Soldado, Capoue, Chadli, Paulinho & for this story's sake, Danny Rose.

Although we have more points through this junction of the season than last year, we are lacking style and a clear tactical system. Here is the e-Spurs Hanukkah Wish List since I will be celebrating the Festival of Lights which starts later this week.

1. A fully healthy squad. We have had our share of knocks so far and despite having strong depth that we are not used to, it certainly has not helped the team form chemistry that Lennon, Chadli, Eriksen, Capoue, Sandro and Danny Rose have been injured over different parts of the season.

2. Our Judah Maccabee. Last year, Gareth Bale was our go to player. He produced magic out of nothing and saved us on several occasions. We need a Judah Maccabee this year to be our playmaker, goal scorer and superstar. We have several candidates. Lamela and Eriksen are two that come to mind with obvious technical skills that can lead the squad. Eriksen needs consistency and a bit of muscle while Lamela needs time to adapt to the Premier League.

3. Luck. We could have scored 6 against Newcastle but Krul has a worldy against us and got lucky several times. Kaboul should have muscled the ball into the net only to have a central defender deflect out. Eriksen had a wide open net but the ball got stuck under him and he could not get his best shot off. Jan knocked a header off the post. These are examples of luck not being on our side and misfortunes really piling up against us.

4. A trophy. Our top 4 chances look to be a very tight battle and one that we cant afford to lose much more ground in. Winning the Europa League would help soothe some of those wounds. It is the tournament that AVB made his claim to fame in and we went very deep last year only to have our lack of depth hurt us.

5. Passion. Our team is lacking something emotionally. Who is clutching the badge and not looking ahead to their next move? Holtby, Sandro, Townsend, Dawson have the fuel to light this team ablaze and gut out some victories but 4 players are not enough. Eriksen has the potential to be our Van der Vaart, Lamela has the potential to be our new Bale type, Capoue could be another Sandro but we need it to happen now.
