After a mini wobble at the start of the month, three wins in a row has put us well and truly back on track. Not only that, if there were any doubts prior to last week's trip to Crystal Palace, everyone is now fully aware that under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham mean business.

Preview continues below.....

The 3-1 win at Selhurst Park not only included a Goal of the Season effort from our multi-talented midfielder Dele Alli, it also installed Spurs as genuine title contenders. Five points adrift of leaders Leicester City, supporters could be forgiven for starting to dream of a first league title since 1961.

Stat Attack

- These two side have never met in a competitive game until this weekend.

- Colchester United vice-captain Alex Gilbey is an Arsenal fan and says he 'can't wait' to face Spurs in the FA Cup.

- It is now 25 years ago to the year since Tottenham won their last FA Cup, beating Nottingham Forest in the 1991 final.

Teams News - Colchester United

Colchester manager Kevin Keen may be tempted to turn to experienced players Nicky Shorey and Darren Ambrose after both started the 3-0 loss away at Scunthorpe United among the substitutes.

Teams News - Tottenham

The only negative to come out of the triumph at Palace was the news that centre-back Jan Vertonghen had suffered a knee ligament injury. His extended absence is likely to hand a chance to Kevin Wimmer, who probably would have started this encounter regardless.

Just as he did against Leicester in the previous round, it would not be a surprise to see Pochettino rest some of his key players. The likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Alli are unlikely to start from the beginning, which will provide opportunities to some of the fringe players.

Jason's View

This weeks media created Ronnie Radford memorial award (only the very young readers will need to google that name) will be centred around Ray Crawford. He famously scored twice in a 3-2 win for his fourth division side over the then mighty Leeds United at full strength and full of internationals. They were 3-0 up in 16 minutes. His side, Colchester United!!! Be warned!!

We ourselves not so long ago were guilty of a horrific performance at Stevenage as we escaped with a 0-0 draw, and I myself was part of the away support when we suffered a 0-2 defeat at Port Vale!!

The key to winning this game is simply attitude. If it's spot on as it was at Leicester, we'll go through. If we show any signs of complacency we'll be in for a difficult afternoon.

But with Poch in charge, with a rotation that sees players needing to impress coming in to the side, the attitude should be fine. I'm going for a 3-0 win.

Finally, lots of talk lately asking if we can have 1 thing, top-4 or FA Cup, what would it be? We have 1 FA Cup in the last 34 years, 1 European trophy in the last 49 years and 2 top-4 finishes in the last 29 years. We are not yet in a position where we can pick and choose what to go for. Just aim to win every game and see what it brings. Any 1 thing will be a successful season.
