  1. Yes, AVB was right, after supporting the club for 50 years these really are the worst times for real support, they are too impatient and AVB needs time as do the new players and team.

Being another half centurian Spurs fan we have always had one of the most demanding set of fans. We must not be too impatient with what is almost a new team circa 15 games old. Billy Nicholas didn't build our double winning team in that time so we must stop living with such unrealistic expectations. Yes there will be frustrating times ahead but we will get there if we get behind the boys.

Very boring to watch at the moment. Too many bad buys and mediocre players.

the title is wrong!!! avb didn't BLAME spurs fans, he said we could do more to help the team. totally agree with him too, best ever start to a premier league season and all the boo children are out for his head. if avb turns our newly gelling side into a Barcelona by the end of the season and then avb leaves spurs because our fans are proper moaners offering we only sing when were winning support then they'll all come out hating him crying about no loyalty in football these days.look in the mirror and recognise the only way we will get players/managers to show loyalty to us is if we offer them the kind of support they wouldn't get anywhere else. right now our fans are an embarrassment as we offer nothing players couldn't get elsewhere. i hope when we get a new stadium more proper fans can get a season ticket to outsing all the grown up childrens boos!!!!

He was wrong. AVB was deflecting blame away from the players who continue to struggle under his stewardship. Fans cannot be made to get behind a team they are struggling to identify with, you simply cannot people how their collective emotions should manifest and be displayed

When teams park the bus as they do, we need to be patient and get behind the team, moaning and shouting abuse isn't going to help is it?

There is a whole new crop of players who must be wondering if they have made the right
move - we should be helping them settle in not make them feel unwelcome

I do agree with AVB. The atmosphere in the stadium of late has been a bit subdued, with the fans waiting for the players to do something for us to cheer. For me that's not what support is about, if you look at other teams on the contintent their support is fantastic from the first whistle. Even going away to teams like Everton you know the crowd will make it a hostile place to play.

I bet all the spurs fans that are unhappy are the ones that always sing the Y-word songs.
    GET OUT OF OUR CLUB!

He wasn't blaming anyone for anything. He was merely suggesting that the negative atmosphere wasn't helping. Sadly the press have taken this and run with it. As far his point goes, the vast majority of Spurs fans agree with him. The atmosphere at home has been getting worse for several years now. The real issue here is that the press aren't taking the majority of the fans opinions into account because that isn't an interesting news story.

If some of you Spurs "FANS" want value for money every time we play....I suggest you fcuk off somewhere else. Only REAL SUPPORTERS should be allowed at the Lane. As you were.

A plea to my Tottenham supporting brothers + sisters get behind your team and manager all this talk is crazy. for too long we wait for something to happen at WHL rather than help make happen by making the ground buzz with anticipation, I have had to move to another part of the stadium to find some atmosphere, I need to sing and cheer the team good or bad it makes the whole stadium rock when we all get involved, players + manages come and go but we are the constant, make WHL exciting again for the supporters and make the players and manager enjoy there football, and I’m sure we will get our reward of exciting football

I think the poll is wrong. I agree Spurs fans need to do more, but I also agree that our play is too slow. Our performances of late have been a concern after looking very strong earlier in the season. Too many touches on the edge of the area, failure to get in behind, not enough movement and build up too predictable are areas that AVB needs to address. Blaming the crowd was right but far from the whole story. He was venting his frustration.
Townsend is the only one at the moment who looks like he can get through. Unfortunately, our new additions are all struggling after showing early promise, with the possible exception of Chiriches. We need them to raise their game and the best way is to create a cauldren of support at WHL.

The atmosphere at the lane was better when we were bad! In those days we'd get behind the players from the start. I've been to too may games over the last few years where we are quiet, akin to Chelski and Arse*** crowds, waiting to be "entertained". If it stays 0-0 we get tetchy and there are tuts and moans. If we go 2-0 up, finally there's some singing and noise - where was that when it was needed at 0-0?? Equally sometimes we perk up when we go down but again - where was that when it could have made a difference at 0-0!? AVB is right - sort it out and get behind the team from the start - the nervousness and the moans and groans don't help anyone.

I agree with Mr Tourettes - you're not there to be entertained - you're there to get behind the team.

3 points off the top of the table.
Best ever start to the EPL.
2nd best defence in the EPL.
Last year was our best ever points total.
A whole host of great new signings.

All this after years and years and years of mid table .

    I for one are happy.
