As the transfer window is heating up, so are the tabloids with dream scenarios that are held together by nothing more than imagination. Why not have our own e-Spurs dream scenario for Spurs?

Each Premier League team will be receiving an influx of money from the new TV rights deal that starts this year. Factoring in our new HP deal for the season (which I assume to be very lucrative considering Gareth Bale, Under Armour, HP and Spurs are in the middle of the world in Times Square) as well as the new TV deal, I have come up with what I believe to be a longshot wish list that is conservative enough that it may just come true.

We have spent 17m on Paulinho already and under my plans, we only need to spend an additional 20m to get a extremely talented centre forward, skilled winger with an eye for goal, one of the top 10 players under 22 in the world and a modern defender that can play as a centre back or right back. Take a look and would love to hear your thoughts as comments on this article or on Twitter @e_spurs.

I contacted our friends at Football Oranje for a brief report on Nacer Chadli and this is what their editor had to say:

"Nacer Chadli has been the shining star for Twente over the past few seasons, and would be a perfect addition to the Premier League. He is a highly skilled winger, full of pace and an eye for goal. If he was fit for the whole of last season, Twente would have been title challengers, and European qualifiers without a doubt. One of the most talented players in the Eredivisie, and I will be sad to see him go."

Not exactly 'conservative' to predict Spurs will sign Benteke for '17m + add-ons'...in fact, it's crazy talk! Villa couldn't be clearer when they say they won't take a penny under 25m cash.

Also, why would you buy Eriksen AND Chadli? We can just about house one of them in an already competitive squad, let alone both.

Finally, and I pretty sick of saying it now...even if we could get Benteke for 17m, we absolutely should not! He is a player to avoid! He spent a year at Genk, then screwed them over by forcing an exit. 12 months later, he's trying to do likewise to Villa (and maybe they deserve it for their part in screwing over Genk). MOST IMPORTANTLY: John Chapman, Belgian Football Expert, claims Benteke is not fit to spear-head the attack of a top 6 club, let alone one hoping for Champions' League. Everything here screams One Season Wonder...not unlike Adebayor before his loan-deal was made permanent...

  2. Eriksen & Chadli are two different players..if you think we are going to keep Bale around for more than 2 or 3 seasons, youre deluded..Eriksen at that time will be entering his prime & able to be a marketable star and one that is talented enough to be the main player at the club

Chadli is a wide player with an abundance of talent that is needed to allow Bale to play more centrally and provide strong tactical options...Townsend is a diff. type of player therefore, he fills a need

Benteke for 17m is not a fairytale at all...so he forced a move twice...wouldn't you? He wants to play at a club where he can receive significant playing time and prepare for the World Cup...each time he was sold, his value increased..if we buy at 17 and then in a year he forces out...we make at least 8 mil profit....he scores at an impressive rate for the National Team, always has proven to be an effective scorer so he has a track record that suggests that he won't be a bust..

As for Villa not dealing for under 25m, thats what they want..do teams ever set a price and receive full price? No..we didn't with Modric although we stuck to our guns and barring release clauses, teams hardly ever get their full valuation met. If the player won't play and they can profit 10million + from a sale, they will do it...not saying the deal will be done but 17m is not a crazy figure as you suggest
