The ball is rolling and the Daily Dose keeps on coming!

If you thought this transfer window was turbulent, the now roaring seas are frothing angrily as the imminent crashing tidal waves of last minute deals approaches its climax.

We are now, and have been for a while, seemingly resigned to losing one of the greatest players to ever grace the magnificent White Hart Lane. With all the shoddy press and pressure from all sides, many have criticised how Daniel Levy has handled the situation, but not Ledley King who has ruled in favour of Tottenham’s conduct during the whole Bale saga.

“They've dealt with it well. The club always tries to deal with these things as professionally as possible. If you do lose players you have to replace them as best you can and the club have been brilliant at that.”

And replace them we have, with an all round upgrade to the entire squad no less…and you know what the best thing is? We‘re not finished yet:

Eric Lamela is poised to sign after undergoing a medical and our very own Argentine legend, Ricky Villa, had some kind words to share.

“I think the arrival of Erik Lamela to Tottenham is fantastic. The manager is building up a super-competitive team.”

AVB has targeted creativity as his next move and with Lamela’s signature, we may have one of the primary contributors to filling the Bale void when he leaves. His quick feet, ingenious play and prolific finishing are just some of the reasons why this guy will light up the Lane this season after impressively achieving 15 goals and 5 assists in Serie A in the last campaign for Roma.

Here’s a short clip of the young Argentine to get your appetite going:

Vlad Iulian ChiricheÈ™ was spotted in Heathrow airport (along with Lamela) ahead of their respective medicals for Tottenham. AVB has stated publicly that the defence needed to be strengthened after the departure of Caulker and this guy is a fully fledged international for Romania at just 23. I think, although many Spurs fans were sad to see him go, that we can consider ChiricheÈ™ an upgrade.

Here’s another little taste:

Reports are that Spurs are closing in on Christian Eriksen and I could not be happier. The diminutive attacking midfielder oozes class. Vertongen could not help but let out a smile when questioned today about the Danish master class, although he regained composure to merely state that he is a “good player”. We should be hearing more on
this soon as Ajax director of football, the former scum, Marc Arse Overmars admitted defeat:

“Yes, Levy was here and Eriksen has been given permission to speak to Tottenham,”

As result of the imminent arrival of Eriksen, Lewis Holtby could leave on loan in order to get more first team opportunities. Holtby is quality, however, his performances when given the chance in a Spurs shirt have been slightly erratic. I do believe that he has a future at Spurs, but he needs to have playing time and he may not necessarily get this with the high level competition there is at the moment in the midfield area.

We have found out as well that poor old Tony Adams is “very worried” ahead of North London Derby. He feels that our Belgium superstar could tear them apart on Sunday.

“Dembele sits in the hole - has the midfielder got him? Has the defender got him? He can sit in that hole and really hurt Arsenal on the counter-attack, so I'm very worried.”

He will certainly be worried about some other players who could do some damage to them, namely Soldado, Townsend/Lennon and the likely bossing of the midfield by two of Paulinho, Sandro or Capoue. Shall I go on…no, let’s move on.

This evening we face Dinamo Tiblisi in the return leg at WHL. With our demolition of the Georgian side in the last fixture, thrashing them 0 – 5, AVB will likely rest some of the first teamers ahead of this Sunday’s NLD. The likes of young Tommy Carroll and Harry Kane could be set to start and get some valuable experience whilst aiming to impress. I think we would all like to see a repeat performance from the outstanding Andros Townsend. His attitude has been excellent, showing his maturity and professionalism by knuckling down and working hard when some may have questioned him following gambling allegations. Fortunately all that was a misunderstanding and he can now focus on becoming a top player for Spurs. I hope he goes down the Gareth Bale route of improvement, I can’t help but be reminded of Bale’s early development when I see Andros play and it is possible that tonight may be another step towards this direction.
