Catch the e-Spurs Daily Dose each night at 9pm!
Tonight's Dose by Andy Nicholson.
So with the hours until the lengthy transfer window shuts edging shorter and Spurs by the hour growing stronger, we approach the first NLD of the season with cautious optimism and a shiny new squad.
Today has been a comparatively quiet day compared to the landslide of transfers and cup draws of yesterday, but maybe a day of rest is what we need before we embark on beating the Woolwich on their own turf.
Links and rumours continue with us linked to a 'major' incoming on deadline day. The so called 'Levy special' could be anyone from the Hulk to Coentrao, and let's be honest Spurs are no strangers to deadline day madness!
Only other piece of news today was of Townsend's new contract. A thoroughly deserved reward for some sparkling performances.
So, as I bid you farewell for tonight, let's have your North London Derby predictions and scorers. Whats the odds on a Soldado brace anyone???? ;-)
Until tomorrow night....ta'ta

ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of Andre Villas-Boas. I have been an admirer since his days as a chief scout for Chelsea and his excruciating attention to detail on match reports intrigued me. Fast forward some years and he's at the helm of Tottenham after much success, failure(player-power) and drama. He's done so well with Spurs and this transfer window has seen so many quality players come in. He has a better feel to Tottenham and know's his limits, weaknesses and strengths. Last time out, away at Arsenal, he couldn't account for an Adebayor's brain-fart. That cost Spurs the game, lessons learned. Sure Tottenham haven't scored from open play yet this season (two games in) but thats not to suggest that they couldn't of have. AVB feels confident that they can go there and win. Why not? They have amassed an awesome squad and they have the desire to follow their managers instructions to a T. Also, there is a great atmosphere around the club. Wenger seems to have cataracts because he really believes that his team are good enough to beat Spurs this Sunday. He might do because his team play the Arsenal way - developed over time and even AVB has conceded that. However, Tottenham may not have a team that knows quite how each other play but what they do have is exceptional quality across the whole park and if they can find any momentum Sunday, expect Arsenal fans to be chanting "You Don't Know What Your Doing" to Wenger at the final whistle.

ReplyDeleteJust win, not worried by how many. Team is still getting to know each other, but should be good enough not to lose. By the time the return derby at WHL comes round we WILL be more than capable of ripping them apart then. COYS
