The e-Spurs Daily Dose 02.09.13

Catch the e-Spurs Daily Dose each night at 9pm! Tonight's Dose by Mark Viales.

Good evening Spurs fans young and not so young! Today’s Daily Dose rummages through all the transfer stories circulating around the Mighty Spurs. Deadline Day Transfer Madness is well underway and there is no shortage of players being linked with us. But first of all,

Bale Out!

It’s a tricky scenario in the family when your dad is a fan of Real Madrid as well as Spurs, especially when recent proceedings play out as they have. My dad exerts his high level expectation and criticism, commonly associated with Madrid fans, on Spurs players when he watches a Tottenham game, which consequently leads him to bear the opinion that Bale is just not worth €100m.

Now whether or not Bale was overpriced or not, the reality for us Spurs fans is that our chairman has pulled of an excellent piece of business. The world record sale of Gareth has been conducted in the best way possible in my opinion. We strengthened the squad before we let him go essentially, and although simple, this basic fact should make most Spurs fans happy at what the transfer window has brought forward this time round.

But it’s not over yet folks! The rumours are flying in endlessly and there may still be some last minute transfer dealings at the Lane.

Let’s see what’s out there!

Transfer Deadline Rumour Mill:

With the wealth of creativity we have signed already, some segments of the press are linking us to Javier Pastore as PSG seem poised to sign Juan Mata. There are suggestions that he may be surplus to requirements at PSG if this deal goes through with a loan deal possibly on the horizon.

Sticking with high profile loan prospects, there has been a lot of talk today about resurrected interest in Hulk. This time it’s a £10m loan deal…quite an extortionate proposition if you ask me, although we have at present shown that we are not averse to spending big this year.

Good ‘Ol ‘Arry Redschnapps is at it again looking to plunder our leftovers. He’s done it before when at the helm for Portsmouth and he intends to revisit his old hunting ground with, once again, loan deals for Carrol and Ekotto.

According to Tancredi Palmeri (Italian Journalist sharing the outspoken attitude of Guillem Balague), Tottenham have bid £7m for old Catania's defender Spolli, quite simply out of the blue and very unlikely to happen considering he is 30 years old and we have already strengthened with Chiriches.

Supposedly Fernebace have no interest in Abdebayor…Sigh, it appears that we will be with the Togolese striker, and I use that term very loosely, for another season. It is unlikely that we will see him get much playing time at the moment with Defoe and Soldado ahead of him in the pecking order.

Tottenham are sniffing around Demba Ba, which is extremely encouraging. He would strengthen our squad no doubt and with the Arse also in for him, this could be another interesting battle with the gooners, and hopefully we will come out on top this time. Reports are that this would be, guess what, another loan deal in the region of £3m.

Talk about a bid for Tom Ince, who we were linked with earlier in the transfer window, has once again resurfaced. If you ask me, with Townsend, Lennon, Chadli and most recently Lamela as natural wide men and several others who can do a job on the wing, there does not appear to be much point in pursuing this option. Apparently he has rejected a move in preference of first team football at Blackpool…good choice.

Capoue Stronger Than an Ox:

As I watched the slow motion replay of our majestic destroyer getting clobbered by the scum, I must admit that I cringed and thought the worst. It had ligament damage written all over it. Capoue had a scan today and should only be out for 4 weeks as opposed to the 3 months touted about by some sectors of the media. Fantastic news! Granting, this year, we have excellent cover in the central midfield area, but it is certain that all Spurs fans will be highly anticipating his return to the first team picture.

So there you have it. There may be more surprises left in store during the next few hours, however, most of us will be happy with the players we have acquired during this transfer window.

What wealth of creativity have we signed???

We got Eriksen and Lamela who look like great signings. Paulinho and Capoue offer no creativity at all and should never have been bought. Chadli is mediocre. Soldado is a goal poacher. Chiriches is a great defender.

The opposite is true in that we are losing creativity by letting Tom Carroll go out on loan even though he is clearly miles better than Dembele and Paulinho, who are donkeys in comparison.
