BRITISH TAXPAYERS Fund Bale Sale, “Intense” pressure pushed move, Willian knew all along and final squad announcements.

Taxpayers' money is said to have contributed to the £86m world-record transfer of Gareth Bale through state-funded bank loans.

David Bick, sports business consultant, labelled the whole affair as "scandalous" and criticised Real Madrid’s carelessness in a financial crisis.

Bick revealed that Madrid coaxed state-funded bank loans to balance the £500m debt incurred from Spain's Bankia, made up of cash from EU taxpayers, including those in Britain.

"Those same Spanish taxpayers, and also us because the bailout money came through Europe, are the same people who have in a sense been led up the garden path and left in the lurch because of the financial crisis. "

"So to now see one of those banks being prepared to lend this money to a club that's already heavily in debt is absolutely scandalous."

"Real Madrid, in debt to a tune of about £500m, does it really make any sense to add on another £100m for what they paid for Bale? I don't think it does."

Los Blancos are under intense scrutiny with regards to their recent business affairs and many will now call for the club to be under investigation.

Bale Pressure Pushed Move:

Andre Villas-Boas confirmed to the Telegraph that the “Intense” pressure implemented by Gareth Bale pushed the inevitable world-record transfer to Real Madrid.

The Portuguese coach admitted that the player’s desire to leave ultimately dictated the decision to sell him on to his dream club.

"The pressure we were subjected to by the player has been intense."

"The influence of Real Madrid has been very big and you get to a point where you have to consider if it's feasible not to accept an offer and whether you can press on with a player in that state of mind."

AVB added that the existing system for the transfer window hinders preparations during pre-season and will need to be revised if improvements are to be made.

"The coaches need time to prepare their teams for the season. Most coaches would like it to be open less time and closed earlier; obviously we will have to have further meetings."

Villas-Boas has demonstrated an astute awareness of the transfer market, conducting his business and securing top talent.

Willian Knew Chelsea Wanted him Before Spurs Deal:

Chelsea’s gazumped Spurs’ transfer for the Brazilian’s at the last minute whilst he was undergoing a medical, but apparently Willian knew about this all along.

Chelsea’s Willian completed his Spurs medical only to be snatched from right under the nose of the unsuspecting Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy.

The Brazilian said to Sportv in Brazil that The Blues made a bid for him two months ago, but he was not allowed to leave back then.

"They made an offer two months ago but I was not allowed to leave,"

"I kept following the club and I used to go to London to follow Chelsea whenever I had free time and now my dream has come true"

Despite Willian’s affection for the blues, he may not feature as much as he might like due to the sheer number of players in his position and Mourinho’s willingness to rotate.

Spurs 25-Man Squad Announced:

The Premier League posted the final 25-man squad announcements for this season, which can be found on this link: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/8908997?

Spurs have included all their new signings and can boast one of the youngest squads in the division as well as possessing ten home grown players in the squad.

Tom Carroll Impresses for England Under-21’s:

Tom Carroll provided a great assist for goal scorer, Saido Barahino, in England’s Under-21 game against Moldova.

The diminutive, creative midfielder scooped the ball into the direction of the WBA striker before he fired home into the top corner.

This is his 3rd cap for the young lions and he will be looking to feature in more first team appearances following his loan move to QPR.
