Once again it has been a mixed couple of months for the players we have out on loan. It has been reported that both Federico Fazio and Nabil Bentaleb will make their respective loan moves permanent in the summer. Of our youth players, both Luke McGhee and Will Miller have had their loans extended until the end of the season, Nathan Oduwa has returned to White Hart Lane, and five more of our youngsters have left N17 on loans until the end of the season.
Federico Fazio - AS Roma
It has been another successful two months in the Italian capital for our Argentine defender. He featured nine times, playing ninety minutes on every occasion. Of his nine matches, Roma won seven of them, including victories over Lazio in the Rome derby and AC Milan. Roma also advanced in the Coppa Italia, beating Sampdoria 4-0 at home. Rather impressively, Roma kept seven clean sheets throughout December and January, and Fazio was only booked once.
Nabil Bentaleb - Schalke 04
It has been a frustrating couple of months for Bentaleb at both club and international level. Schalke went into the German winter break having lost three of their last four games, while Algeria suffered a group stage exit from the African Cup of Nations. Returning to the Bundesliga brought more misery for Bentaleb, as Schalke lost 1-0 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Clinton N'Jie - Marseille
Clinton N'Jie enjoyed a very successful December, as Marseille won all four of the games he featured in. N'jie also found the net twice, including the winning goal against SC Bastia, which he scored two minutes after coming off the substitutes bench. Clinton has spent January in Gabon as part of the Cameroon squad for the African Cup of Nations, and has featured twice at the tournament so far, against Burkina Faso and Guinea.
Will Miller - Burton Albion
Attacking midfielder Miller featured five times for Burton throughout December and January, though four of his appearances were limited minutes from the bench. Of the games Will featured in, Burton won one, but lost the other four.
Luke McGhee - Peterborough United
Another productive couple of months at London Road has seen Luke play another twelve times for The Posh, keeping three clean sheets in the process. Peterborough won four, drew four and lost four of the games Luke played in. The most impressive win was the 2-0 victory away at Charlton Athletic, while one of the four defeats was against Chelsea in the FA Cup third round, an experience our young goalkeeper described as fantastic.
Nathan Oduwa - Peterborough United
Unlike McGhee, Nathan Oduwa's loan at Peterborough did not prove a success. Oduwa made three substitute appearances - two wins and one draw - during December, before returning to Spurs on January 1st. During his time at London Road, Nathan made a total of nine appearances, all from the bench.
Ryan Loft - Stevenage
Striker Ryan Loft, who was the top scorer for our under 18's last season, has joined Stevenage on loan for the remainder of the season. Since signing, Ryan has made three substitute appearances for the League Two club. Stevenage were victorious in Loft's first game, but lost the other two.
Conor Olgivie - Stevenage
Defender Olgivie joined Stevenage on loan for the rest of the season towards the end of January, making his second debut - Conor enjoyed a successful loan at The Boro last season playing 24 games and scoring once - against Grimsby Town, playing the full ninety minutes of their 2-0 win.
Shayon Harrison - Yeovil Town
Joining Yeovil on loan for the remainder of the campaign, Shayon has made three substitute appearances to date. Harrrison's debut was a 2-2 draw away at Blackpool, while his two other appearances have both been at Huish Park - a 3-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers and a 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle. The young striker, who is very highly thought of by Pochettino, made his Spurs debut in October, coming off the bench in the EFL Cup defeat against Liverpool.
Anton Walkes - Atlanta United (USA)
Defender Anton Walkes, who made his debut for Spurs in the EFL Cup win against Gillingham earlier this season has joined MLS side Atlanta United on an initial six month. Atlanta, who are starting their first season in the MLS, do not start their domestic season until the beginning of March when they face New York Red Bulls. With pre-season already underway, Atlanta take on Chattanooga FC in their first friendly on February 11th.
Luke Amos - Southend United
Development squad captain Ben Amos joined Southend United on loan for the rest of the season at the end of January, but is yet to feature for The Shrimpers.
