Sign our Petition Regarding Real Madrid 'Partnership'

Real Madrid C.F. have taken advantage of our club through the "strategic partnership" that we agreed to. They have taken our 2 top players for the past 2 years, sold a top player to our biggest rival and the partnership has been one sided. They have been duplicit in their dealings with us and we, the fans believe that we should be informed of exactly what benefits THFC receive from this partnership or that it should be terminated.

Sign the petition and join the e-Spurs campaign to end the 'partnership'. Over 4,000 already have! http://www.change.org/petitions/tottenham-hotspur-football-club-end-the-strategic-partnership-with-real-madrid-2

It's so special that we allow them to come in steal our best performing player (again ie Modric )and sell a top player to our biggest domestic rival (Ozil to Arsenal).
Yes i understand we were financially compensated well today, but their approach to the deal is what really upset me ie manipulating the press etc. i think our club showed the greatest level of professionalism possible.
so unless their are some confidential reasons that the club hold to maintain this relationship (ie they are going to give us Coentrao and Morato at christmas in swap for ade and ekkto ;-)), why is it different to any other club??

  2. Is there any way we can get an amendment added to the petition?

Something like : Daniel Levy must take a stand over tapping up and report Real Madrid to the appropriate authorities for their behaviour in both Modric and Bales transfers.

I think we need to make a stand because at the moment our current players must think that if they play well, they are guaranteed to get a transfer when they want to if they moan a little bit.
I'm sick of it and I will gladly sign anything that gets the attention of our clubs board.

well i for one think levy should of stould firm and refused to deal with madrid... this so called partnership is only one way, bale was under contract, levy should of told him to get his head down and get on with playing for spurs.. bale is only 24, he could of stayed another 2 seasons then gone there.. but i seem to think this was more about the agent getting his 5 million cut out of the deal, after all the agents contract with bale was running out in jan 2014, so he wouldnt of got his cut, so he was touting bale around europe all year...terminate this "friendship" now with madrid, and never deal with them again, and in future when we sign a player get him on a long term contract, and put in enormous buy out clauses

All Real Madrid do is take what they want from us and strengthen our rivals , They have nothing to offer us so I think we should end our so called strategic relationship with them ASAP. Frankie (Oxford)

I'll sign a petition once the details of the 'partnership' are clear. It just smacks of sour grapes to now raise a petition. No one had a petition in place when we were busy spending the 100 million.
And Mesut Ozil to Spurs was never a reality without Champions league football (sad, but that's ALL that players want these days) and I can't see how he could've been prevented going to Arsenal.

Its fair to say that in selling Modric and Bale we have come out of those deals in good shape but the way Madrid have gone about there underhand work is against fifa regulations and they should have been fined for their actions. all clubs get away with what they can including us but to be so blatant in their pursuit of both our relationship with them must come to an end. id have rather keep both players instead of trying to fill the gaps left by both. well done to Levy for making them take the stand down, we might have lost Bale but it was on our terms and a small victory is still a victory against a club that can bully any other.

Next it will be Lamela we have left created another Monster Utd derailed our ambitions has a growing fan base Worldwide. What damage we have done selling young Bale only time will tell but World class players attract World attention and now Madrid have is best years to exploit this. We need to build our new stadium has fast has we can before we become a Footballing Stud Farm. What makes me Laugh the two most successful Clubs or should i make it three Utd Madrid Barcalona all have massive financial problems throug buying success and not paying for it.DAVSPURS

What is the aim of this petition? Do you want the Bale deal reversed? Do you want Madrid to sell their players only with our approval? Embarrassing. We have just purchased Roma's great hope, their fans are going nuts, do you see them signing a petition against Spurs? And if they did, I think we would all say Roma fans are acting like idiots. What about Ajax fans, we have just bought their best player, Corinthian fans have just lost Paulinho who is a hero in their eyes.

No, it's not to 'reverse' the deal or to force Madrid to sell only with our approval. And no, it's not embarrassing. It's so we can express to the club we support our disatisfaction in dealing with a club as underhanded and scummy as Real Madrid.

It's in the hope that the club may understand that we are unhappy, not necessarily with the decision to sell, but the circumstances in which we did. Is that clear enough for you?

And there's a world of difference between the Bale transfer and our acquisitions this summer.

We didn't arrange articles in the London Evening Standard talking up the Lamela transfer before he moved. Do you see the difference?

Daniel Levy didn't hold press conferences in which he kept talking about Christian Eriksen and how we were talking to his club about a transfer as if it was a foregone conclusion. Do you see the difference?

We didn't put up a Paulinho 15 shirt for sale on the club's website a week before he signed. Do you see the difference?

And we didn't fund the purchase of Lamela by selling a player to Lazio. We didn't fund the purchase of Eriksen by selling to Feyenoord. We didn't fund the purchase of Paulinho by selling to Palmeiras. DO YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
